Think you might be thinking of something else, Arcon, the sump pan is just like a roasting tin held in place on 4 studs and a series of bolts. It's definitely independent of the gearbox and bell housing.It's not coming off because of the gasket mastic that's used to seal it. Yes just realised ops got the 2.0 TDCI mondeo. Does anyone know the correct spec for the gearbox oil for a MK4 Mondeo 2.0 TDCI Manual? Also any recommendations for a particular make of oil too? I'm thinking of changing the gearbox oil as very occasionally the gearbox will not go into reverse and needs to be forced in. Thanks All.
It looks like Ford has tried to alleviate some of the issues presented to motorists on engine oil selection by releasing a new standard: WSS-M2C934, now to revision B. This is classed as "an extended drain engine oil for vehicles equipped with diesel particulate filter (DPF)."
