ESP with engine malfunction doesn't seem odd at all, it's because the ESP needs full control over the engine, so when it activates it can brake on the necessary wheels as well as cut engine power, no point braking if engine is still trying to pull car forward , it will just overcome the ESP and pull
I have been having a starting trouble on my ford mondeo diesel 1.8 Tdci, mk4. Once the key is turned, the engine starts at first but then the engine shuts down as if no fuel and then it cranks but does not start. After a few tries starts but then I have to press the full gas to get it going normal again.

Saturday 21st November 2015. Twice tonight my car, 2007 mk4 mondeo 2.0 tdci auto, cut out whilst driving along. First time the car restarted straight away but the second time it took a good ten Ford Mondeo Mk4 (2007 - 2013) 6th keep it in 4th with 3500 revs for a while.It cleans out the junk and forces a regen to start.
